Greyhounds Fall, 3-2, in Overtime

Freshman midfielder/forward Krystal Wilbur scored with 2:33 left in the first overtime to lift the Keystone College field hockey team to a 3-2 overtime win over visiting Moravian College in non-conference action Wednesday at the Riverfront Sports Complex.

The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 4:14 into the match when sophomore midfielder Chelsea Groytohann netted a goal on a penalty corner off of an assist from senior midfielder Erica Cernobyl.

The Giants tied the match just 29 second later when senior forward Lori-Ann Marino put in a pass from junior forward Kelsey Drozda. Drozda would help put Keystone in front just over a minute and a half later when she set up a goal by junior forward Hope Krolewski.

Moravian would tie the match in the 48th minute when freshman forward Cayley Wise netted her first collegiate goal off of a pass from freshman midfielder Catherine Duffin.

Keystone netted the winning goal in the 83rd minute when Wilbur scored off of a pass from Krolewski.

The Greyhounds had a 16-14 edge in shots in the contest, and Moravian also had a 16-6 advantage in penalty corners. Greyhounds sophomore goalie Andrea Eck made four saves, and Moravian had one team save while Giants freshman keeper Mary Grace Piazza had three saves to go with two Keystone team saves.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 1 when the squad heads to Drew University for a Landmark Conference match starting at 1:00 p.m. The Greyhounds will return home on Wednesday, October 5 when they host The University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference contest at Betty Prince Field starting at 4:00 p.m.
