Moravian Drops Landmark Conference Contest at Drew

MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian University men's basketball team dropped an 86-65 decision to host Drew University in Landmark Conference action Wednesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Rangers hit the opening three shots of the contest, opening to an early 6-0 lead before junior guard Chad Kratzer drove to the basket to open the scoring for the Hounds. Kratzer would also hit two free throws a minute later, earning the first four points of the game. In the next five minutes of the first half, Drew extends their lead to 26-10 with 10 minutes remaining
  • With an eight-point push from sophomore guard Taylor Perlmutter and six points from graduate student guard Alex Dietz, the Greyhounds cut the Ranger lead to 39-30 heading into halftime
  • Junior forward Marquis Ratcliff started the scoring in the second half with two layups and a free throw. A combined effort between Kratzer and Perlmutter brought the game to its closest, 51-45, a six-point deficit.
  • The Rangers extended their lead to 60-48 before freshman forward Jametric Harris scored a three-pointer cutting the Drew lead to nine points
  • Drew would extend their lead as the game continued, concluding with the Hounds falling 86-65

Inside the Numbers

  • Moravian had three players in double figures led by Perlmutter, who netted 12 points to go with a pair of assists
  • Kratzer and Dietz both contributed ten points and had two boards while Ratcliff finished with nine points, ten rebounds and two blocked shots
  • Junior guard Porter Kelly and Harris both scored six points and had two steals with Harris pulling down four rebounds while sophomore guard George Cutler had five points, two boards and a pair of assists
  • Sophomore guard/forward Riley Flood registered three points while senior guard/forward Michael Leonardo had two points and two assists and sophomore forward Brian Farrell netted two points
  • The Hounds shot 20-for-53 from the field, 5-for-18 on three-pointers and 20-for-26 at the foul line
