Deitz Honored as Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Graduate student guard Alex Dietz from the Moravian University's men's basketball team has been honored as the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for his performance last week.

Dietz averaged 10.0 points and reached 1,000 career points in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds as the squad clinched its first Landmark Conference Tournament berth since the 2019-20 season. He shot 7-for-15 from the floor and 6-for-9 from the three-point line to move into a tie for third in school history with 160 made three-pointers. Dietz had 15 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals in an 88-75 victory at The University of Scranton as the Hounds clinched the postseason appearance. He tossed in five points in a 94-64 win at Lycoming College as Dietz became the 26th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point milestone.

The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, February 19 in a Landmark Conference contest versus Wilkes University at 7:00 p.m. in a key game for postseason seeding.

The Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger is selected on Mondays by Moravian's athletic department leadership team.
