LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Moravian College softball team has been ranked No. 23 in the 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Top 25 Preseason Poll.
The Greyhounds, under the direction of Head Coach John Byrne who enters his 26th season with a 822-241 career record, start campaign with 14 returners and six starters from last season's 36-8 squad that won the Landmark Conference title and NCAA Division III Ewing, New Jersey Regional.
Moravian begins its 2019 schedule with 10 games in the Spring Games at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida. The trip begins with games versus Thiel College and John Carroll (Ohio) University on March 3 and runs through March 8. The Hounds are slated to begin their 2019 home schedule on Thursday, March 14 when the squad hosts Gwynedd Mercy University in a non-conference doubleheader at Blue & Grey Field with first pitch set for 3:00 p.m., and the Greyhounds are scheduled to start the Landmark Conference season two days later when Drew University comes to Bethlehem for a twinbill beginning at 1:00 p.m.
