TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore Shannon Brogan has been selected as the Landmark Conference Softball Player of the Week for her performance last week.
Brogan led Moravian at the plate in a 4-0 week that saw the Greyhounds score 57 runs and hit .524 as a team. She had a .778 average, going 7-for-9, with five runs, two doubles, two triples, three RBIs and a walk for a 1.444 slugging percentage and a .727 on-base percentage. Brogan hit safely in all four games and has a hit in 13 straight contests, and she added one putout and two assists while seeing action at second base, left field and designated player. She was 3-for-5 with two runs, a triple and two RBIs versus Gwynedd Mercy in wins of 18-4 and 17-1, and Brogan went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, three runs and an RBI in a sweep of Drew University, 12-1 and 10-0, to begin the Landmark Conference season.
"Shannon has a really good week at the plate, and she has picked up right where she left off after a strong freshman campaign," noted Head Coach John Byrne. "She makes very good contact and is a line-drive hitter, and we've had Shannon playing multiple positions this year, and she has responded very well."
The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on Thursday, March 21 in a non-conference doubleheader at Ursinus College beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Collegeville.
