Moravian Softball to Begin 2019 Slate on March 3 in Florida

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College softball team will open its 2019 schedule on March 3 with the first of 10 games at the PFX Spring Games in Clermont, Florida.

The Hounds' southern trip to the National Training Center begins with contests versus Thiel College and John Carroll (Ohio) University on March 3. The Blue and Grey will play Emmanual (Mass.) College and Monmouth (Ill.) College on March 4 before the off day of the trip. Moravian is slated to play Wartburg (Iowa) College and Lebanon Valley College on March 6, Wittenberg (Ohio) University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (N.Y.) on March 7 and Alvernia University and Defiance (Ohio) University on March 8 to round out the trip.

Once the Greyhounds return home, the squad will open its home season at Blue & Grey Field on Thursday, March 14 with a non-conference doubleheader versus Gwynedd Mercy University. Two days later, the Hounds begin the 2019 Landmark Conference season when the team welcomes Drew University to Blue & Grey Field on March 16. Moravian has four more doubleheaders scheduled in March with road trips to Ursinus College on March 21, Elizabethtown College on March 23 for a conference twinbill and Susquehanna University on March 30 for another conference match-up, and the squad will host Penn State Berks on March 26 in non-conference action.

The Greyhounds begin April on the road at DeSales University on April 2 before hosting Rutgers-Camden on April 4. The squad makes the trip to The University of Scranton on April 7 for a Landmark Conference doubleheader before playing five of its last six doubleheaders at Blue & Grey Field. Moravian is set to welcome rival Muhlenberg College on April 11 before hosting the Catholic University of America on April 13. The final road trip of the year takes the Hounds to Eastern University on April 16, and the squad finishes the regular season with matchups versus The College of Staten Island on April 20, Haverford College on April 25 and Juniata College on April 27 at Blue & Grey Field.

The Landmark Conference Tournament is scheduled for May 3-4 at the highest seed with the Tournament Champion earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
