Greyhounds Sweep Rival Muhlenberg on Hard Courts

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team posted its second straight 9-0 win to begin the 2017-18 season as the Greyhounds swept rival Muhlenberg College, 9-0, in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds won both doubles matches that were played as the Mules had just four players available due to injuries. Senior Skylar Oliwa and freshman Emma Angle posted an 8-1 victory at first doubles while freshmen Brooke Adams and Mary Angle had an 8-2 win at second doubles.

The Blue and Grey would also win the four single matches contested in straight sets with Emma Angle winning, 6-0, 6-1 at first singles. Freshman Kristen Cassidy won her first set at second singles, 6-1, and was leading in the second set when her opponent retired due to an injury. Adams posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at third singles as the first match off the courts while junior Kate Rennar ecorded a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at fourth singles.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Regional Tournament hosted by the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Saturday and Sunday, September 23-24.
