Greyhounds Open 2018 Landmark Conference Women's Tennis Slate with Win Over Juniata

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team opened its 2018 Landmark Conference season with a 7-2 victory over Juniata College in a match played indoors at Winning Touch Tennis Lehigh Valley.

The Greyhounds, now 5-1 overall this year, swept the doubles action to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Freshmen Brooke Adams and Kristen Cassidy were off the courts first with an 8-2 win at second doubles while freshman Mary Angle and sophomore Lauren Steinert recorded an 8-3 victory at third doubles. Freshman Emma Angle and junior Kate Rennar finished off the sweep with a 9-8 (7-4) triumph at first doubles.

The Hounds won the first four singles matches to finish as well with Adams off the courts first again with a straight-sets win at third singles. Cassidy followed with a straight-sets victory at second singles while the Angle sisters added straight sets wins with Mary winning at fourth singles and Emma at first singles. Both Rennar and senior Grace Bailly forced third sets in their singles contests.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Sunday, April 8 when the squad hosts Susquehanna University in a Landmark Conference contest beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Howard Hoffman Courts in Bethlehem.
