Danoski Named Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Carly Danoski named as Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior Carly Danoski has been named as the Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Danoski won the 800-meter run at the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus College in a time of 2:23.18 as she earned 10 points and helped the Greyhounds finish third of 19 teams that scored in the meet. Danoski's win was one of two event victories on the track for the Hounds.

"Carly really got after it the first 300 meters of the race going out in about 31 seconds through the first 200," explained Director of Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "She was leading the race by herself which makes a really quick pace even harder to maintain, but she held on for the win. She ran how we'd like her to attack the race when we get into February so it's a good set up for what we'll need in order to reach the ultimate goal of getting back to NCAAs in Boston."

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, January 26 when the squad hosts the Covert Classic at Lehigh University's Rauch Fieldhouse with action beginning at 9:30 a.m.
