Rohrer & Marion Score Points on Opening Day of All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships

CORTLAND, N.Y. --- The Moravian College women's track & field squad is tied for 23rd of 29 teams after in the opening day of competition at the All-Atlantic Regional Outdoor Track & Field Championships being hosted by SUNY Cortland Wednesday.

The Greyhounnds scored three points on the first day of action. Junior Ashley Rohrer earned the first two points of the meet with a seventh place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:57.87 while freshman Emma Marion received a point for an eighth place in the 10,000-meter run in 39:17.34, a PR for Marion by 35 seconds in the race.

Sophomore Natalie Novotni was the only other female to compete on the opening day as she finished 12th in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 18:47.31.

The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on the second day of the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships on Thursday, May 16 with action beginning at 10:00 a.m. at SUNY Cortland on the final day to get times and distances into the top 22 in the nation for the women to qualify for next week's NCAA Division III National Championship Meet.
