Danoski Selected as Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Carly Danoski selected as Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior runner Carly Danoski has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Track of the Week for her performance last week.

Danoski, who garnered her second Landmark Conference award of the year, led the Greyhounds with a runner-up finish in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:48.40 at the Carol & John Covert Classic at Lehigh University.

"We have been working on some speed endurance aspects of Carly's 800 all season and in meets since the main goal for her is to get back to NCAAs in the half mile," commented Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "This meant we left the 1,500 for the last minute to qualify for Landmarks. It's a little bit of a risk to leave qualifying to the last week, but we also knew we could trust Carly to have a really good race when needed. She moved well through the pack during the race and had a great kick to run the second best 1,500 time of her career. She should be sharp and ready to go by the time we get to Landmarks on Saturday."

The Hounds are slated to return to competition in the 2019 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships being hosted by Goucher College on Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5 as Moravian looks to capture its 12th consecutive Landmark Conference outdoor title.
