Hounds Fall to Muhlenberg

Bethlehem, Pa. --- The Moravian College volleyball team hosted rival Muhlenberg College in a non-conference match in Johnston Hall on Wednesday night. The teams battling for the Matte Award points found the Greyhounds just short falling in three sets.

"Muhlenberg is an established veteran squad that played very well tonight, and we didn't battle as well as I hoped against that kind of competition. I thought we started off the game pretty good but we didn't make the needed adjustments," stated Head Coach Shelley Bauder.

Sophomore middle blocker Taylor Kornmann had a team-high of eight kills and recorded a block. Junior outside hitter Lauren Hostetler had five kills and four digs while junior middle blocker Victoria Bobyak pitched in with five kills, two service aces and two digs.

The team dropped the non-conference match 20-25, 16-25 and 13-25, Bauder commented "Although TK had a very good night, the whole team needs to better their performance and get ready for Saturday's Landmark Conference matches, and I am confident we can turn it around and play well on Saturday."

The Hounds host a quad match on Saturday, October 4 with, The University of Scranton, United States Merchant Marine Academy and Elizabethtown College coming to Johnston Hall. The Blue and Grey face off with the Royals at 4:00 p.m. and play again at 6:30 p.m. against the Mariners.
