TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior linebacker Ethan O'Neill and freshman kicker/punter Jack Corrigan have been selected as the Landmark Conference Football Defensive & Special Teams Athletes of the Week for their performances in the Greyhounds' 35-13 win over Juniata College Saturday on Homecoming.
O'Neill helped the Moravian defense allow just 13 points to the Eagles in a contest that extended the Hounds' winning streak to four games as the defense has allowed just 11.5 points per game during the streak. O'Neill had team-high and career-best ten tackles versus Juniata with three tackles for loss and a sack.
"Ethan works tirelessly to improve his game every day and Saturday's result was a great example of that," commented Head Coach Jeff Long. "He is always learning and his effort on the field is contagious!"
Corrigan was 5-for-5 on extra-points in the victory, and he is now 7-for-7 on the season. Corrigan also punted three times for an average of 48.0 yards with a long of 62 yards that pinned the Eagles at the one-yard line, his fifth punt of longer than 60 yards this season, and two punts inside the 20-yard line. Corrigan kicked off five times for an average of 58.0 yards and one touchback.
"Jack continues to focus on the details of his craft, and it shows," noted Long. "His growth has been instrumental in our kick game, and I know he will be hungry for more each week!"
The Hounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, November 2 in a battle of the two remaining undefeated Landmark Conference squads when Moravian heads to No. 7 Susquehanna University for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff in Selinsgrove.
