TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian University football team has 13 student-athletes selected to the Landmark All-Conference Football Teams with graduate wide receiver Jordan Bingham and senior defensive lineman Jeremy McGuigan named to the First Team.
Senior quarterback Jared Jenkins, senior wide receiver Diego Del Castillo, senior offensive lineman Reins Leedy, junior linebacker Clay Basile, junior defensive lineman Nathan Carr, freshman linebacker Malachi McNeil-Harrison, sophomore defensive back Aidan Lane and freshman punter Jack Corrigan were honored on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team while senior defensive lineman Brandon Guffy, senior linebacker Chris Cacace and senior defensive back Isaiah Johnson earned spots on the All-Conference Honorable Mention squad.
The group has helped the Greyhounds to a 6-4 overall record in 2024 with a 4-2 mark in Landmark Conference action, which earned Moravian a berth in the 2024 Chesapeake Challenge Bowl Series. The Hounds will face Shenandoah (Va.) University from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in the Cape Charles Bowl on Saturday, November 23 at 5:30 p.m. at Salem Stadium in Salem, Virginia, site of 26 Stagg Bowls for the NCAA Division III National title.
The trip to Salem is the Hounds' first postseason appearance since 2015 and the team's first winning season since the same year. Moravian's 13 All-Conference selections are the most since 1993 when the Greyhounds had 15 players selected to the All-Middle Atlantic Conference teams.
"We are extremely proud of Team 98's accomplishments this year," stated second-year Head Coach Jeff Long. "Our first winning season in nine years and now the most All-Conference selections in over 30 years. Each recipient of this all-conference team worked extremely hard and played their tails off! We cannot wait to see them continue to grow on and off the field!"
Bingham, who make the Landmark All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive season, has broken his own school record for receptions in a season with 73 this fall. Bingham added 836 yards and ten touchdowns this year. In just two seasons at Moravian, Bingham is third all-time in catches with 142, seventh in program history with 1,666 receiving yards, second with 19 touchdown receptions and first in program history with an average of 87.7 yards per game in just 19 contests.
McGuigan, who also repeated as a Landmark All-Conference First Team honoree, is seventh on the squad this fall with 39 tackles to lead the defensive line, and he has added six tackles for loss, four and a half sacks, a fumble recovery, a blocked kick and two pass break-ups. McGuigan has recorded 113 tackles with 14 and a half tackles for loss, ten and a half sacks, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, three pass break-ups and two blocked kicks in 30 career games.
Jenkins, who was a member of the inaugural Landmark All-Conference First Team in 2023, has completed 238-of-350 passes for 2,658 yards with a school record 28 touchdown passes and just six interceptions to go along with 147 yards and a touchdown on 88 rushing attempts. Heading into the bowl game, Jenkins has a school record 59 career touchdown passes to go with school records of 65.0 completion percentage, a 146.1 passing efficiency and an average of 260.3 yards per game. In 23 career contests, Jenkins has 523 completions, second all-time, in 804 pass attempts, which is fourth in program history, for 5,987 yards, which ranks fourth, and he is third all-time in total offense with 6,278 yards as he has run for 291 yards and three touchdowns in his career.
Del Castillo has had an impressive debut season with the Greyhounds having caught 48 passes for 729 yards and nine touchdowns. Del Castillo leads the squad at 15.2 yards per reception.
Leedy, who made the Landmark All-Conference First Team last fall, and Guffy have helped the Moravian offense average 394.3 yards per game in 2024 including 117.1 yards on the ground and 277.2 yards through the air in each contest. The Greyhounds have had the ball on offense for an average of 31:48 per game, and the Blue & Grey are 63-for-144 on third downs and 15-for-31 on fourth downs this fall.
Basile, who was a member of the Landmark All-Conference First Team a year ago, is second on the squad with 52 tackles this season to go with four and a half tackles for loss, a pass break-up, a quarterback hurry and a forced fumble. Basile has recorded 191 tackles with 13 and a half for loss, two and a half sacks, four pass break-ups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 30 career contests.
Carr has registered 31 tackles this fall to go with eight and a half tackles for loss and two and a half sacks. Carr has made 59 tackles in his 29 career games with 11 tackles for loss, three and a half sacks, one forced fumble, one pass break-up and one blocked kick.
McNeil-Harrison is third on the team in tackles with 46 in his debut season, and McNeil-Harrison leads the Greyhounds with nine and a half tackles for loss and five sacks to go with six passes defended, a forced fumble and an interception in the end zone on the final play to preserve the Hounds' victory over Utica University in week two.
Lane leads the Moravian defense with 58 tackles to go with two and a half tackles for loss, four passes defended, an interception and a forced fumble. In two seasons, Lane has 81 tackles with two and a half tackles for loss, three interceptions and seven passes defended in 19 games.
Corrigan is averaging 42.6 yards per punt in his debut season on 43 attempts. He has a season-long of 71 yards and has 11 punts of more than 50 yards and five over 60 yards. Corrigan has placed 14 punts inside the 20-yard line and had three fair caught and just five touchbacks. He is 15-for-17 on extra-points, and Corrigan has kicked off 47 times for an average of 52.0 yards with seven touchbacks.
Cacace has recorded 44 tackles with three for loss, two sacks, two passes defended and an interception with an 11-yard return in his first year with the Greyhounds.
Johnson has made 24 tackles this fall to go along with three tackles for loss, one sack, six pass break-ups and two fumble recoveries. In 28 career contests, Johnson has posted 100 tackles with four for loss, one sack, one interception, 16 passes defended, two fumble recoveries and a blocked kick.
