TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University sophomore guard Alex Dietz has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Dietz helped Moravian to a 1-1 record last week in Landmark Conference action after averaging 18.5 points per game. He also had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals during the week while shooting 41.7 percent from the floor (10-for-24), 37.5 percent beyond the three-point line (3-for-8) and a perfect 100 percent at the foul line (14-for-14). Dietz had 10 points and five rebounds in a 102-70 loss to Drew University. He finished the week with a career-high 27 points to go with three rebounds, two assists and two steals in an 84-82 win at Elizabethtown College as the Greyhounds rallied from a 17-point deficit.

"Alex's effort on both ends of the court has been outstanding," commented Interim Head Coach Mike Frew. "He leads the team in charges taken. He's a key contributor on offense and often guards the other team's best scorer. As a sophomore his confidence continues to grow, and he's been a huge part of our team's success."

The Greyhounds, who are 6-7 overall, are scheduled to return to action on Monday, January 17 in a non-conference game versus FDU-Florham beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
