Greyhounds Place Second at Landmark Conference Fall Preview with Haberstumpf Earning Medalist

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's golf squad placed second of eight schools at the Landmark Conference Fall Preview hosted by Susquehanna University at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club Friday and Saturday.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds had a team score of 622, finishing 12 strokes behind The University of Scranton
  • The Blue & Grey recorded a 310 in the opening round Friday to trail the Royals by two strokes before posting a 312 on Saturday
  • Moravian was four strokes ahead of Drew University and 17 strokes in front of both The Catholic University of America and Goucher College
  • The 36-hole tournament was played on the par 70 course that will host the 2023 Landmark Conference Championships in April 

Moravian Results

  • Freshman Jake Haberstumpf earned medalist honors for the fifth time in six events this season as he led the 40 golfers with a 36-hole score of 143 to finish three-over par. Haberstumpf had an opening round of 72 that included four birdies and 10 pars, and he added a 71 in the second round as he carded three birdies and 10 pars to win the tournament by four strokes
  • Sophomore TJ Bohl was tied for fourth with a 36-hole score of 153. Bohl shot an opening round 77 with a birdie and 10 pars, and he carded a 76 in the second round with 13 pars
  • Sophomore Jason Koch finished in a tie for 17th with a tournament score of 162. Koch fired a 76 in Friday's opening round with 13 pars, and he shot an 86 in the second round with one birdie and five pars
  • Freshman Robbie McNelly and senior Andrew Hozza were tied for 25th with scores of 168. McNelly had an 85 in the first round with six pars, and he carded an 83 in the second round that included seven pars. Hozza posted an 86 on Friday with eight pars, and he finished the tournament with an 82 which included eight pars
