Moravian Ties for Third at 2023 Landmark Conference Championships After Strong Second Round

BOALSBURG, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's golf squad shot 30 strokes better on day two of the 2023 Landmark Conference Championships hosted by Susquehanna University at the Mountain View Country Club as the Hounds finished tied for third in the tournament.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds tied for the team low round of the day and tournament with a 297 Saturday to finish with a four-man score of 624 over the 36 holes, tying The Catholic University of America
  • The University of Scranton, which also shot 297 on Saturday, won the tournament with a 613, two shots ahead of runner-up Drew University
  • The Hounds moved up two spots in the second round after being in fifth place after the first 18 holes

Moravian Results

  • Senior Andrew Hozza finished fourth of the 40 golfers with a 36-hole score of 152 to earn Landmark All-Conference First Team honors, which are awarded to the top six golfers in the field. Hozza carded a one-over par round of 71 Saturday, 10 strokes better than his opening round, and he recorded three birdies and 11 pars in the 18 holes played in round two
  • Freshman Jake Haberstumpf completed the tournament in a tie for fifth at 153 to also garner Landmark All-Conference First Team accolades. Haberstumpf improved by nine strokes in the second round with a two-over par 72 that included three birdies and 10 pars
  • Sophomore TJ Bohl earned Landmark All-Conference Second Team honors as he placed eighth overall at 155. Bohl had a 76 on Saturday, improving by three strokes, and he carded a birdie and 13 pars over the final 18 holes
  • Sophomore Jason Koch tied for 23rd with a 164 in the tournament after firing a 78 on Saturday, an improvement of eight strokes. Koch posted a birdie and nine pars in his second round
  • Freshman Robbie McNelly was 30th in the tournament at 169 for 36 holes. McNelly carded an 81 on Saturday, improving by seven strokes, and he added two birdies and six pars in his second round
