Haberstumpf Honored as Landmark Conference Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University freshman Jake Haberstumpf has been honored as the Landmark Conference Men's Golf Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Haberstumpf, who received his fourth Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honor of the year and first of the spring season, won two of three events last week for the Hounds while averaging 74.3 strokes per round. Haberstumpf began the week with a career low round of 68 on the par 70 Lehigh Country Club course to lead the 55 golfers at the Muhlenberg Invitational as the Greyhounds finished third. Haberstumpf's round included four birdies and 12 pars. He tied for 10th at the Moravian Spring Classic with an 80 at the Olde Homestead Golf Club with birdie and 10 pars as the Greyhounds tied for third. Haberstampf finished the week in a tie for first of the 71 golfers with a four-over par round of 75 on the Hershey Country Club East Course as the Greyhounds won the tournament. Haberstumpf, who has six medalist honors this year, has been under par in six of 15 career rounds including three rounds under 70.

"After an up and down spring, it was nice to see Jake hang in there to get two more wins," noted Head Coach Kevin Edwards.

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action at the Garden State Collegiate Classic on April 15-16 at the Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington, New Jersey.
