Greyhounds Drop Landmark Conference Match at Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse squad dropped a 28-10 decision to host The Catholic University of America in Landmark Conference action Saturday.

How It Happened

  • The Cardinals scored the first two goals of the match before tallies from senior attacks Cade Siddron and Connor Hull knotted the score at 2-2. Catholic would score the next eight goals to lead 10-2 after 15 minutes of action
  • The Cardinals also scored the first goal of the second quarter before junior attack Connor James found the cage. Siddron would score again but Catholic netted another seven goals to lead 18-4 at the intermission
  • Junior attack Griffin LeBlond and junior midfielder Nick Nolder both had goals in the third period
  • Moravian scored four times in the fourth quarter including the first career goals for freshman attack Brennan Fluehr and freshman midfielder Joey Furino 

Inside the Numbers

  • James led with three goals and an assist while Siddron netted two goals. LeBlond, Furino, Fluehr and Nolder each had one goal and one assist while Hull had one goal and senior midfielder Timothy Dwyer added an assist
  • Senior Max Towers won 13-of-22 face-offs and had three ground balls while junior Ben Walek scooped up a team-high five ground balls while winning 6-of-18 face-offs. Sophomore midfielder Shane Cassel also had five ground balls while senior long stick midfielder Jimmy Schicke had three ground balls
  • Sophomore goalie Sean DeMott made 11 saves in the contest
