Moravian Closes Out 2021 Regular Season with Landmark Conference Win at Drew

MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian College men's lacrosse squad posted a 16-5 victory over host Drew University in Landmark Conference action Wednesday evening to close out the 2021 regular season.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds jumped out to a 1-0 lead just under three minutes into the contest when junior attack Connor James scored the opening goal. James added another goal and senior attack Cade Siddron tallied one goal as the Hounds lead 3-1 after 15 minutes of action
  • Moravian scored the only four goals of the second quarter with one each from James, Siddron, junior midfielder Zach Bergeron and junior midfielder Nick Nolder to give the Blue and Grey a 7-1 advantage at the intermission
  • The Hounds netted the first four goals of the second half with Bergeron extending the lead to 11-1 with 10:39 left in the third quarter. The Rangers scored two straight goals before junior attack Griffin LeBlond found the net for the Greyhounds to make it a 12-3 match after 45 minutes of action
  • James, Bergeron and senior attack Connor Hull each had a goal at the start of the fourth quarter as Moravian took a 15-3 lead before the Rangers scored two of three goals.

Inside the Numbers

  • James led the Greyhounds with five goals and two assists while Bergeron, LeBlond and Siddron each tallied three goals. Hull contributed a goal and two assists while Nolder added one goal and freshman attack Trevor Dzama had one assist
  • Senior long stick midfielder Jimmy Schicke had a team-high five ground balls for Moravian while senior face-off specialist Max Towers had three ground balls and was 4-for-10 on face-offs
  • Siddron and senior midfielder Timothy Dwyer each had three ground balls while junior face-off specialist Ben Walek was 6-for-11 on face-offs
  • Sophomore goalie Sean DeMott made seven saves for the Hounds
