Schicke, Leslie, Siddron & Bergeron Named to 2021 Landmark Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior long stick midfielder Jimmy Schicke and senior defender Tanner Leslie have been named to the 2021 Landmark Men's Lacrosse All-Conference First Team while senior attack Cade Siddron and junior midfielder Zach Bergeron were selected to the All-Conference Second Team.

The quartet has helped the Greyhounds to a 5-6 record this spring and the program's first-ever trip to the Landmark Conference Tournament where the Hounds defeated Susquehanna University, 18-12, for the first postseason victory in program history. Moravian is slated to head to top seed The Catholic University of America for a Landmark Conference Semifinal match beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5.

Schicke, who earned All-Conference honors for the fourth time in her career after being on the First Team in 2017 and the Second Team in 2018 and 2019, leads the Hounds with 57 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers to go along with an assist. Schicke is third in program history with 221 ground balls, and he also has three goals, five assists and 81 caused turnovers in 54 career matches.

"A four-time All-Conference LSM, Jimmy has been an incredible player for us," stated Head Coach Dave Carty. "He leads the conference in ground balls and caused turnovers. There isn't a more dominant player in between the boxes in our league."

Leslie, who was a member of the All-Conference First Team in 2019 as a sophomore, has 24 ground balls, 14 caused turnovers and a goal this season, and he has contributed 114 ground balls, 63 caused turnovers, two goals and an assist in 42 matches in his career with the Greyhounds.

"He's the total package as a defender, strong, physical, can handle the ball," noted Carty. "Tanner's been a staple of our defense from his first day on campus. He covers the number one offensive threat every game and does a great job."

Siddron made the All-Conference Team for the first time, and he leads the squad this spring with 13 assists to go along with 31 goals and 16 ground balls. Siddron ranks second in school history with 115 goals, third with 61 assists and second with 176 points in 52 career matches, and he also has 74 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers in his career.

"Cade has been a great goal scorer for us the last three years," Carty said. "He's a physical attackman that can also shoot the ball. It's great to see him recognized."

Bergeron also made the All-Conference squad for the first time, and he has 13 goals, four assists, 16 ground balls and seven caused turnovers this spring. In 17 career contests, Bergeron has 13 goals, four assists, 20 ground balls and seven caused turnovers for Moravian

"Zach has really exploded this year," commented Carty. "He's a huge physical presence and can really shoot the ball. His hard work over the break has made him an impact midfielder offensively and defensively."
