Crawford, Gibbs & Steinbach Selected as 2023 Moravian Men’s Soccer Captains

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer squad has selected seniors defender Jake Crawford, defender Donald Gibbs and midfielder Dave Steinbach as captains for the 2023 season as the trio serves as team captains for a second straight year.

"Dave, Jake and Reese will continue in their role as captains this year," commented Head Coach Bob Wilkinson. "It will be Dave's third year as captain and Jake and Reese's second. They have done more than we can ask, and they take the job very seriously. They are great representatives of our program."

Crawford has started 13 of 33 career matches for the Greyhounds, and he has contributed a goal and an assist in his career.

Gibbs is a two-year starter with 26 starts in 31 career contests, and he has added two goals and an assist. Gibbs had one game-winning goal last fall.

Steinbach is in his fifth year with the program and was named to the 2022 Landmark All-Conference Second Team. During his career, Steinbach has started 35 of 53 career matches and netted eight goals with a pair of game-winning markers back in 2019.

Moravian is scheduled to start the 2023 season on Friday, September 1 with a non-conference game at Washington (Md.) College on the opening day of the Athey Cup in Chestertown, Maryland.
