Ben Scary in action

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University junior forward Ben Scary has been honored the Landmark Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Scary had a pair of goals in a 1-0-1 week for the Greyhounds in Landmark Conference action as Moravian clinched a berth in the Landmark Conference Tournament. Scary netted both goals including one on a penalty kick in the Hounds' 2-0 win at The University of Scranton as the Blue & Grey clinched the fifth seed in the tournament. Scary's two goals give him four on the season to lead the Hounds, and he now has 11 career goals and is 4-for-4 in his career on penalty kicks.

"Congratulations to Ben Scary for being named Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week," stated Head Coach Bob Wilkinson. "We are really happy for Ben and glad to see him win the award. We were under a lot of pressure when Ben calmly slotted home his penalty kick in the first half. In the second half, he made a great run on a counterattack and finished off a pass from Hunter Shay at the back post. The two goals pushed us into the playoffs, and we are looking forward to the week ahead."

The Greyhounds, who are 6-6-5 overall, clinched the fifth seed in the 2023 Landmark Conference Tournament and will travel to fourth seed Drew University for a First Round match on Tuesday, October 31 at 4:00 p.m.
