Fifth Seeded Hounds Head to Drew University for Landmark Conference Men’s Soccer First Round on October 31

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer squad has earned the fifth seed in the 2023 Landmark Conference Tournament and will travel to fourth seed Drew University for a first round match on Tuesday, October 31 at 4:00 p.m. in Madison, N.J.

Admission to Tuesday's match is $7 for adults and $4 for minors ages 10-17 and seniors 62 and older. Children ages nine and under are admitted free of charge, as are all Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff with their school ID. With the addition of Lycoming College and Wilkes University to the Landmark Conference in 2023-24, all postseason tournaments have expanded to six teams with the top two seeds earning first round byes. The winner of the Moravian/Drew match will travel to top seed The Catholic University of America for a semifinal match on Thursday, November 2. Tuesday's other first round contest has sixth seed Goucher College heading to third seed Elizabethtown College at 7:00 p.m., and the winner of that match will head to second seed Lycoming College for the other semifinal contest on November 2. The 2023 Landmark Conference Championships match is set for Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seed for the conference title and a berth to the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.

The Greyhounds, who are 6-6-5 overall and were 4-4-1 in the Landmark Conference regular season, are under the direction of sixth-year Head Coach Bob Wilkinson, who has guided Moravian to the postseason for the first time since 2019 and for the third time since his tenure began in 2018.

Junior forward Ben Scary leads the Hounds with four goals including converting the only penalty kick the Blue & Grey have taken this season while senior defender Kyle Weiss has contributed three goals and two assists. Senior defender Donald Gibbs has netted three goals while junior forward Jakob Braman has tallied a pair of goals. Freshman defender Aidan Costa has added a goal and three assists while freshman midfielder Giuseppe Propato has a goal and an assist.

Freshmen midfielders Ryan Latchford, Rafi Sanjuan and Colin Woehlcke all have scored one goal this fall while junior midfielder Hunter Shay has a team-leading seven assists. Senior midfielder Dave Steinbach, senior forward Zach Nicholas, junior midfielder Dan Ingersoll, junior defender Cole Stevens and freshman defender Max Teneza all have one assist.

Senior goalie Andrew Remias has registered 53 saves, eight shutouts, which is second in program history for a single season, an 0.77 GAA and a 5-4-3 mark in 1,056 minutes while senior keeper Christian Beebe has 26 saves, a 1-2-2 mark and a shutout in 475 minutes.

Moravian fell to the Rangers, 3-0, when the squads met during the regular season on October 10 in Bethlehem.
