BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's squad jumped out to a 3-0 lead and defeated visiting Susquehanna University, 3-1, in a key Landmark Conference match Saturday afternoon on a rainy John Makuvek Field.

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by junior defender Kyle Weiss in the 12th minute. Weiss was sent into open space by a pass from junior midfielder Hunter Shay, and Weiss slid his shot under the goalie
  • Moravian held that 1-0 edge through the remainder of the first half and into the second
  • The Hounds scored twice in 55 seconds to push the lead to 3-0 midway through the second half. Scary sent a pass down the right side to spring Weiss open for a shot inside the left post in the 63rd minute. On Moravian's next trip down the field, Shay carried the ball towards the left corner before crossing the ball. Weiss one touched the pass to junior forward Ben Scary to bury a shot in the right side of the net
  • The River Hawks broke up the shutout bid in the 79th minute with an unassisted goal on a free kick from about 25 yards out

Inside the Numbers
