Greyhounds Drops Non-Conference Match to Widener

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team dropped a non-conference match to visiting Widener University on John Makuvek Field Tuesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The Pride broke onto the scoreboard in the 24th minute, and Widener held the 1-0 lead until the intermission
  • Just 3:44 into the second half, the Pride scored again to make it 2-0
  • The Greyhounds countered two minutes later when junior forward Ben Scary found the net with an unassisted goal
  • Widener finished off the scoring nearly three minutes after that with the final goal in the 54th minute

Inside the Numbers

  • Scary's goal was his first of the season and the eighth of his career for the Hounds
  • Senior goalie Andrew Remias posted three saves in the contest for the Blue & Grey
  • The Pride finished the night with a 15-9 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks
