Hounds Earn First Landmark Conference Win of 2023 with Shutout at Goucher

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team earned its first Landmark Conference win of the 2023 season with a 2-0 victory at Goucher College Tuesday evening.

How It Happened

  • The first half was scoreless until 1:45 before the intermission when freshman defender Aidan Costa headed in a free kick by senior Dan Ingersoll to send the Greyhounds into the intermission with a 1-0 advantage
  • Moravian added an insurance goal in the 76th minute as senior defender Donald Gibbs put a pass from junior midfielder Hunter Shay into the back of the net

Inside the Numbers

  • Costa's goal was the first of his collegiate career while Ingersoll recorded his second career assist
  • Gibbs tallied his second marker of the season and fourth of his career while Shay now has four assists this season and six in his career
  • Senior goalie Andrew Remias made one save for his sixth shutout of 2023 and the tenth of his career as he moved into a tie for sixth in program history
  • The Hounds had a 12-5 advantage in shots while the Gophers held a 9-4 edge in corner kicks
