BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University senior defender Vito Leone and junior forward Kyle Weiss have been honored with selection to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team for NCAA Division III schools.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America® honors, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve that has played in 90 percent of the team's games or started 66 percent of the team's contests in 2023. Moravian has had 56 Greyhounds named CSC Academic All-Americans®.

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The CSC Academic All-America® teams will be announced Tuesday, December 19.

The duo helped the Greyhounds to a 6-7-5 overall record this year, and the squad was 4-4-1 in Landmark Conference action to earn a berth in the 2023 Landmark Conference Tournament. Leone and Weiss also helped the Blue and Grey record nine shutouts in 2023.

Leone, a computer science and economics dual major with a 3.82 grade-point average, started 17 matches and helped the Moravian defense allow just 18 goals in 18 contests with nine shutouts this fall. Leone appeared in 40 career matches with 23 starts, and he is a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Weiss, an education major and sociology minor with a 3.62 GPA, started all 18 matches this year and moved from defender to forward early in the season. He finished with three goals and a pair of assists in 2023. Weiss, who made the 2022 Landmark All-Conference Second Team as a defender, has played in 49 career contests with 36 starts, and he has three goals and three assists in his career. Weiss, who also plays men's lacrosse at Moravian, was on the 2022 Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll for soccer and the 2023 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll for lacrosse.
