Greyhounds Play to Scoreless Draw at Washington (Md.) to Begin 2023 Season

CHESTERTOWN, Md. --- The Moravian University men's soccer squad played to a scoreless draw versus host Washington (Md.) College on the opening day of the Athey Cup Friday to begin the 2023 season. 

How It Happened

  • The squads combined to take 21 shots but neither squad was able to hit the net
  • The Greyhounds took seven attempts with senior forward Zach Nicholas and junior midfielder Hunter Shay each recording two shots for Moravian
  • Washington would put five shots on goal including four in the first half 

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior goalie Andrew Remias registered five saves in the shutout. The clean sheet was the sixth shutout of his career
