BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's soccer team is scheduled to start the 2022 season with four straight road matches beginning with a trip to Maryland during the opening weekend of the campaign.
The Greyhounds begin the year at Washington (Md.) College where the squad plays the host Shoremen on Friday, September 1 in the opening round of the Athey Cup, and the Blue & Grey will face Stevenson (Md.) University on Saturday, September 2. The road trip continues with matches at Ramapo College of New Jersey on Wednesday, September 6 and rival Muhlenberg College, on Saturday, September 9.
Moravian finally makes its 2023 debut at John Makuvek Field on Wednesday, September 13 when the team welcomes Montclair State University to Bethlehem. The Hounds will make a trip to Penn State Abington on Saturday, September 16 before hosting Widener University on Tuesday, September 19.
The 2023 Landmark Conference season starts on Saturday, September 23 on the road at The Catholic University of America. The Greyhounds finish September with two home matches as the squad welcomes Union (N.Y.) College on Tuesday, September 26 for a non-conference contest and Landmark newcomer Wilkes University in a conference matchup on Saturday, September 30.
Moravian has eight contests slated for the month of October including seven Landmark Conference matches. The Hounds start the month on the road once again with trips to Goucher College on Tuesday, October 3 and to the other Landmark newcomer Lycoming College on Saturday, October 7. The Blue & Grey then play four of five matches at John Makuvek Field including contests with Drew University on Tuesday, October 10, Susquehanna University on Saturday, October 14, Juniata College on Saturday, October 21 and Ursinus College on Tuesday, October 24 in the final non-conference match of the season. Moravian's final two road contests of the year at trips to Elizabethtown College on Tuesday, October 17 and The University of Scranton on Saturday, October 28 to close out the regular season.
The Greyhounds aim to qualify for the 2023 Landmark Conference Tournament, which expands to five teams with the two new schools in the conference, starting with the first round between the fourth and fifth seed on Tuesday, October 31. The semifinal matches will be at the top two season on Thursday, November 2 with the finals slated for Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seeds' home field.
