Greyhounds Ranked Sixth in 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Preseason Top 25 Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Moravian University softball squad is ranked sixth in the 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Preseason Top 25 Poll released Tuesday.

The Greyhounds posted a 38-12 overall record, the school's first 50-game season, and won the program's 18th conference title, tenth Landmark Conference championship, fourth NCAA Division III Regional title and first NCAA Division III Super Regional championship under the direction of Head Coach Josh Baltz, who was in his first season leading the squad. The Hounds appeared in the NCAA Division III Championship Finals for the fourth time, knocking off No. 1 Salisbury (Md.) University in the opening game before eventually being eliminated by eventual national champion Trine (Ind.) University.

Moravian, which returns 18 players from last spring's team, is set to begin the 2024 campaign at the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Georgia starting on Friday, March 1. The Hounds have three top 25 opponents in the first five games of the season with contests versus No. 23 Concordia University-Wisconsin on March 1, No. 21 Central (Iowa) College on March 2, and No. 11 Bethel (Minn.) University on March 3. The Hounds also have a doubleheader at No. 19 Lebanon Valley College slated for Tuesday, March 19.

The Blue & Grey will play the first 12 games of the season on the road and are not scheduled to make their 2024 home debut until Saturday, March 23 when the squad will host Landmark Conference newcomer Wilkes University in a doubleheader at Blue & Grey Field to begin defense of the Landmark Conference title.
