Elmore Selected as Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger

Ajala Elmore for Honey Stinger award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Senior second baseman Ajala Elmore of the Moravian University softball squad has been named the Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger for her performance last week.

Elmore was honored as the 2024 Landmark Conference Softball Tournament Most Valuable Player after helping the Greyhounds win their second straight and 11th overall Landmark Conference Championship this past weekend at Blue & Grey Field. Elmore was 4-for-9 at the plate in the Hounds' three games with at least one hit in each contest. She added two runs, a double, a homer and four RBIs in Moravian's 5-1 victory over Lycoming to win the title. Elmore's home run to seal the victory was the squad's school record 34th of the season as a team. In the field at second base, Elmore recorded six putouts and 12 assists in 18 chances including several diving stops. Earlier in the week in the Greyhounds' sweep at Manhattanville College to end the regular season, Elmore had a pair of hits including a solo home run in the opening game.

The Moravian Student-Athlete of the Week Fueled by Honey Stinger is selected on Mondays by Moravian's athletic department leadership team.
