BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's lacrosse program has selected its senior class of Jamie Bader, Samantha Cherenson, Eliza Fantazzi, Kelsey Moore, Meghan Moore, Eirean Perst and Lindsey Strohl to serve as team captains for the 2022 season.
"This year our senior class will be leading us as captains," stated first-year Head Coach Caroline Pape. "This group sets the tone for our pace and energy and have done a good job of finding their roles within this leadership group. They are great examples of the unity and communication we strive to play with as a full team."
The group has helped the program to a 22-13 record with the 2020 season cancelled after just six matches and two Landmark Conference Tournament appearances including the program's first-ever postseason victory in 2021. Strohl was named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in both 2019 and 2021, and she enters the season with 89 goals, nine assists, 98 points, 176 draw controls, 53 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers in 35 career matches.
Fantazzi has 19 points with 16 goals, three assists, 16 ground balls and seven caused turnovers in her career while Cherenson has contributed 45 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers and Bader has added 18 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Kelsey Moore has recorded 12 points on ten goals and two assists to go with 20 ground balls and five caused turnovers while Meghan Moore has 35 ground balls, 14 caused turnovers and a pair of draw controls and Perst has added seven caused turnovers and six ground balls
The Greyhounds are slated to open the 2022 season on Wednesday, February 23 with a non-conference match at Muhlenberg College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
