Greyhounds Start 2021 Campaign with Non-Conference Win over Immaculata

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team started its 2021 season with an 8-1 victory over Immaculata University in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at Hoffman Courts. 

How It Happened

  • The Greyhounds opened the match with a sweep of the doubles matches including an 8-7 (8-6) win at third doubles by sophomores Maddie Figiel and Cristina Merone that used the new ITA tiebreaker starting at 7-7
  • Moravian won five of the six singles matches with senior Mary Angle posting a 6-2, 6-0 at second singles for the match clinching point 

Inside the Numbers

  • Angle, Figiel, Merone, senior Brooke Adams and sophomore Julianne Cassady all went 2-0 on the day with victories in both singles and doubles action
