Greyhounds Tabbed as Runner-Up in 2017 Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md. --- The Moravian College women's soccer squad has been tabbed to finish second in the 2017 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll voted on by the conference coaches.

The Greyhounds received 54 points and a pair of first-place votes in the poll while defending Landmark Conference Champion the University of Scranton was selected first in the poll with 68 points and six first-place votes. The Catholic University of America was third in the poll with 50 points.

Head Coach Jeff Ykoruk begins his fourth season leading the squad that returns eight starters and 15 letterwinners from last year's 10-7-1 squad that reached the Landmark Conference Championship match at Scranton with a dramatic, 4-3 double-overtime win over Catholic in the Landmark Semifinals.

"The players and staff are excited about the 2017 season," Ykoruk said. "The players had an amazing offseason and are looking to build off the success of last year's team."

Moravian starts its 2017 season on Friday, September 1 when the team hosts Cortland State University in a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
