Greyhounds End 2017 Campaign with Double Overtime Loss at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's soccer team fell 1-0 in double-overtime to Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action to close out the 2017 season Saturday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, who ended their season with a record of 9-6-1 overall and 3-4 in conference play, would take three shots in the first half of the match with two ending up on goal, with the first coming from junior forward Aimee Manley in the fifth minute. Moravian's second opportunity came in the 35th minute from freshman midfielder Val Monaco would get another shot on the keeper before the end of the half.

In the second half, the River Hawks took eight shots to Moravian's three shots, but both squads were unable to find the back of the net. The Blue and Grey took two shots on target in the first overtime. Sophomore midfielder Juliana Caranci and freshman defender Sara Cassel each put shots on the keeper in the final two minutes of the first overtime. Susquehanna would get the game-winning goal 3:30 into the second overtime.

Senior Jessica Lawton played the first 45 minutes of the match while sophomore goalie Jamie Daly contributed two saves in 58:30 in goal. The Greyhounds finished the match with an 4-2 edge in corner kicks and were outshot 13-8 by Susquehanna.
