Greyhounds Remain Undefeated with Win over Penn State Harrisburg to Start Spring Slate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team began its 2019 spring season with a 7-2 win over Penn State Harrisburg at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, South Carolina Sunday as the Greyhounds remained undefeated on the year.

The Blue and Grey had a 2-1 lead after doubles action as the tandem of sophomores Brooke Adams and Emma Angle earned the first point of the spring with an 8-2 win at second doubles while the duo of junior Lauren Steinert and sophomore Mary Angle recorded an 8-4 triumph at first doubles for a 2-0 advantage.

The Hounds would win five of six singles contests on the afternoon. Emma Angle was first off of the courts with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at first singles while Mary Angle posted a 6-4, 6-0 triumph at second singles. Steinert finished next with a 6-2, 6-4 win at third singles while Adams pushed the lead to 6-2 with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at fourth singles. Sophomore Destiny George finished off the match with a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5) win at sixth singles.

Moravian will return to action on Monday, March 4 when the squad plays Randolph (Va.) College at 2:30 p.m. in Hilton Head.
