Greyhounds Complete Undefeated Landmark Conference Regular Season with Sweep of Drew

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team completed an undefeated Landmark Conference regular season by sweeping Drew University, 9-0, at Hoffman Courts Saturday on Senior Day.

The Greyhounds, who have won 12 straight contests, finish the regular season at 17-1 overall, tying the program record for wins in a season, and a perfect 7-0 in Landmark Conference action under the direction of first year Director of Tennis Aaron Wilf.

The Blue and Grey, who won by a 9-0 score for the eighth time this season, allowed just three points during doubles action. Sophomores Brooke Adams and Kristen Cassidy started the afternoon with an 8-0 win at third doubles while junior Lauren Steinert and sophomore Mary Angle earned an 8-2 victory at second doubles. Junior Eiman Nazif and sophomore Emma Angle finished off doubles play with an 8-1 triumph at first doubles.

Adams was the first off the court in singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at fifth singles while Mary Angle claimed the winning team point with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at third singles. Nazif posted a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at second singles before Emma Angle finished off a three-set win at first singles. Steinert recorded a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fourth singles while senior Kate Rennar was honored before the match on Senior Day and then finished the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles.

The Greyhounds have earned the top seed in the 2019 Landmark Conference Tournament and will host fourth seed Goucher College in a Semifinal match on Wednesday, May 1 at Hoffman Courts with action beginning at 4:00 p.m.
