Hounds Win Ninth Straight Match With Non-Conference Victory Over Eastern

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team captured its ninth straight victory with an 8-1 non-conference win versus visiting Eastern University at Hoffman Courts Tuesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds, now 14-1 this year, led 3-0 after the doubles action was completed. Sophomore Mary Angle and junior Lauren Steinert earned the first point with an 8-0 win at second doubles while sophomores Brooke Adams and Kristen Cassidy won by the same score at third doubles. Junior Eiman Nazif and sophomore Emma Angle finished the sweep with an 8-3 triumph at first doubles.

The Blue and Grey won five of six singles contests to secure the victory. Adams was off the courts first with a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles while Cassidy posted a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at fourth singles to secure the winning team point. Steinert won at second singles while freshman Hannah Pellicciotti won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles to make it 7-0. Sophomore Destiny George finished the contest with an 8-0 proset to win at sixth singles.

Moravian is slated to return to Hoffman Courts on Saturday, April 20 to celebrate Senior Day and host Drew University in the final Landmark Conference regular season match with action beginning at 11:00 a.m.
