Greyhounds Top Juniata to Remain Unbeaten in Landmark Conference Action

ALTOONA, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team won its third straight match and remained unbeaten in Landmark Conference action with an 8-1 victory over host Juniata College at the Summit Athletic Club in Altoona as the squad's played indoors.

The Greyhounds, now 8-1 overall and 2-0 in Landmark Conference play, jumped out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles action. Junior Lauren Steinert and sophomore Mary Angle posted an 8-3 win at first doubles while senior Kate Rennar and sophomore Emma Angle won by the same score at second doubles. Sophomores Brooke Adams and Kristen Cassidy posted an 8-0 triumph at third doubles.

The Hounds would take five singles contests in straight sets to seal the win. Emma Angle won at first singles while Steinert was victorious at third singles. Adams posted a win at fourth singles while Cassidy earned a victory at fifth singles and Rennar captured a win at sixth singles. Mary Angle would play a three-set match at second singles before falling in a 10-point proset.

Moravian is scheduled to return to the courts on Sunday, march 31 with another Landmark Conference match as the squad heads to Susquehanna University for a 1:00 p.m. match.
