BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's basketball team has earned the fourth seed in the 2020 Landmark Conference Tournament and head to top seed Susquehanna University for a semifinal game on Wednesday, February 26 with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. at O.W. Houts Gymnasium in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children. All youth under the age of 10 are admitted free as are all students, faculty and staff with a valid ID from any of the eight Landmark Conference institutions. College students without a Landmark school ID and seniors are $4.
The Greyhounds, who are making their fourth straight appearance in the Landmark Conference Tournament and are the two-time defending conference champion, are 14-11 overall this season and completed the Landmark regular season with a 9-5 mark while the River Hawks are 18-7 overall and 11-3 in Landmark action. During the regular season, each team won on the road with Moravian capturing a 65-60 victory in Selinsgrove on January 29 and Susquehanna winning 90-67 in Johnston Hall on February 19.
Wednesday's other semifinal contest has second seed Drew University hosting third seed The University of Scranton at 7:00 p.m. The top remaining seed will host the 2020 Landmark Conference title game on Saturday, February 29 with an automatic berth to the 2020 NCAA Division III Tournament on the line.
Moravian Head Coach Shawn Postiglione has the Greyhounds in the postseason in his first season in Bethlehem. The Blue and Grey are making their sixth trip to the Landmark Conference Tournament. The Hounds have won seven of their last nine games this winter.
Leading the squad on the court have been junior guard Matt O'Connor and senior guard C.J. Barnes. O'Connor is tossing in a team-high 15.8 points per game to go with a team-leading 63 three-pointers, 91 rebounds, 82 assists, 27 steals and nine blocked shots while Barnes is averaging 15.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest with 54 three-pointers, 36 assists, 20 steals and 15 blocked shots. Barnes enters the postseason with 1,237 points, which is 16th in school history, and 209 three-pointers, second all-time, in 109 games, one shy of tying the school record.
Freshman guard Greg Eck is netting 10.2 points per outing in his debut season to go with 66 rebounds, 37 three-pointers, 19 assists, 13 steals and seven blocked shots while senior forward Addis Ralph is contributing 9.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game to go along with a team-high 40 blocked shots, 14 three-pointers, 11 assists and nine steals. Ralph is fourth in school history with 75 career blocked shots. Senior forward John Hargraves has averages of 7.0 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest with 23 steals, 20 blocked shots and 11 assists while senior guard Mike Martino leads the Blue and Grey with 100 assists and 37 steals to go along with 92 rebounds, 91 points and 20 three-pointers. Martino is eighth all-time with 262 assists in 106 career games, which fourth in program history, while Hargraves is tenth in the record books with 44 career blocked shots.
Junior guard Deandre Tillett has contributed 60 points, 34 rebounds, 14 three-pointers and 12 steals since joining the squad at the semester break while junior guard Keith Otto had 80 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists, nine three-pointers and seven steals before an injury in early January sidelined him for the rest of the season. Freshman guard Nate Dougherty has 44 points, 30 rebounds, seven three-pointers, seven assists and seven steals in his debut season while freshman forward Ricky Melosky has added eight rebounds and two points. Freshman guard Tyler Mozeleski had six points before an injury ended his season while freshman guard Dylan Parris has four points and three boards this winter.
