BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team opened the 2019-20 campaign at the non-scoring Fast Times Before Finals meet hosted by Lehigh University at Rauch Fieldhouse on Saturday.
Sophomore Taylor Porter McPherson had the top finish on the track for the Greyhounds with a fifth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.28 seconds. Freshman Ethan Cherubin finished eighth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles in 9.09 seconds while Porter McPherson was ninth in the preliminary races of the 60-meter dash. Senior Evan Lutz took tenth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.38 seconds.
In the relay races, the Greyhounds 4x800 A relay team of senior Devon Fogel, junior Peter Gingrich and freshmen Liam Duffy and Bryce Feddeman took second in a time of 8:14.14 while the B team of senior Justin Beasley-Turner, sophomore Michael Lerch and freshmen Elias Aviles and Darlyn Fermin finished third in 8:24.46. Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad of Beasley-Turner, Fermin, Duffy and sophomore Brad Clemson finished third in 3:38.35.
Senior Ryan Harper finished fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 15.19 meters (49-10) while freshman Dan Jenkins took tenth with a toss of 13.25 meters (43-5.75). Junior Shane Mastro was seventh in the shot put with a toss of 14.27 meters (46-10).
Sophomore Max Schuman took eighth in the long jump with a leap of 6.11 meters (20-0.5) while freshman Sherwin Stewart finished ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.76 meters (41-10.5).
Moravian is are not slated to return to action until Saturday, January 18 when the Greyhounds host the Moravian Indoor Meet at Lehigh's Rauch Fieldhouse.
