Women's Tennis Defeats Albright, 8-1

The Moravian College women's tennis team defeated Albright College in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon, 8-1. The Greyhounds were led by sophomores Olivia Sonnabend and Erica Venuti, both defeating their opponents 6-0, 6-0. They also teamed up in doubles in win 8-0.

Junior Stephanie Cox, and freshman Carly Agrifolio worked together in doubles to defeat Ligeria Evans and Christina Peacock, 8-0. Cox also defeated Evans in singles 6-0, 6-0, while Agrifolio took down Melissa Carberry, 6-0, 6-0.

Sophomore Katie Zien won her singles match against Peacock, 6-0, 6-0. She then doubled with junior Chelsea Ott as they defeated Victoria Foanio and Carberry, 8-2. Ott lost in her singles match in the tie-breaker to Foanio 4-6, 6-4, 14-12.

The Greyhounds return to action when they take on cross-town rival Muhlenberg College in the Matte Award Match. The match is scheduled for Thursday, October 6 at 4 p.m.
