Womens Tennis Competes In 2011 Goucher College Open

The Moravian College women's tennis team competed at the 2011 Goucher College Open, which featured four singles flights and two singles brackets.

The Greyhounds top singles finisher was sophomore Katie Zien, who posted three wins in the fourth singles bracket to win the flight with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Scout Bauer from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Freshman Carley Agrifolio was 2-1 in the first singles flight, winning her first match and the 3/4 contest while junior Stephanie Cox went 1-2 with a win in the 7/8 match of the second singles flight. Freshman Sophia Osbourne won her opening match in the third singles bracket before dropping her next two matches.

Moravian only had one doubles team compete with freshmen Alyssa Flowers and Sarah Sadtler competing in the second doubles flight. They won their opening round match before dropping two contests.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, October 4 in their final home match of the fall season when Albright College comes to Hoffman Courts for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
