Womens Tennis Competes In Day 2 Of The 2011 USTA-ITA Southeast Regional

The Moravian College women's tennis team had three players compete on the second day of the 2011 United States Tennis Association-Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Southeast Regional being hosted at The University of Mary Washington.

Junior Chelsea Ott, was playing the consolation bracket of the championship bracket on Sunday, and she defeated ninth seeded Jillian Poppe from Salisbury University, 8-2, Sunday morning in the consolation round of 16. In the consolation quarterfinals, Ott fell to Allison Hupalo from Washington & Lee University, 8-5.

Freshman Carly Agrifolio was the top seed in the Blue 3 Singles bracket, and she was knocked out of the tournament by Leslie Bowie from Stevenson University6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (13-11), in the semifinals on Sunday. It was Agrifolio's second straight match that went three sets in the tournament.

Sophomore Erica Venuti competed in the Blue 4 Singles bracket, and she defeated Jolie Dudley from Christopher Newport University, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 in the semifinals on Sunday morning. Venuti ended up falling to Angela Stallman from Mary Washington, 6-1, 6-2, in the finals of the Blue 4 Singles bracket.
