Ott Named Landmark Women's Tennis Player of the Year; Four Greyhounds Earn All-Conference Honors

MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian College women's tennis team has had four student-athletes earn spots on the 2012 Landmark All-Conference Teams with junior Chelsea Ott (Whitehall, Pa./William Allen HS) being named the Landmark Conference Player of the Year for a second consecutive year and earning spots on the Landmark All-Conference First Team as a singles and doubles player.

Ott earned Landmark All-Conference First Team honors in doubles with sophomore Katie Zien (West Suffield, Conn./Suffield HS).  Sophomore Erica Venuti (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township HS) and freshman Carly Agrifolio (Fairfield, N.J./West Essex Regional HS) earned Landmark All-Conference Second Team accolades in doubles.

The Landmark All-Conference Teams were selected by the conference's seven head coaches.  The teams consist of six singles players and three doubles pairings per team.

Moravian head coach Dawn Ketterman-Benner led the Greyhounds to the postseason for the 18th straight season after leading the Greyhounds to a 5-8 overall record and 3-2 mark in the Landmark Conference.  Ketterman-Benner, who has a career mark of 264-110, led Moravian to the conference championship match in for straight 17 years, a streak that was snapped this season, and the program has won 11 conference titles including the 2011 Landmark Conference title to earn the program's second berth to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament last spring.

Ott, who was the 2010 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year and 2011 Player of the Year while being on the All-Conference First Team in singles and doubles each year, had a 17-3 record this season including a 13-1 mark at first singles.  In three seasons, Ott has a 50-6 career record in singles action for the Greyhounds, the eighth player in school history to reach 50 career wins, after tying the school record as a freshman with 20 singles victories.

In doubles action, Ott and Zien combined for a 9-2 record at first doubles.  The duo was a perfect 6-0 during the Landmark Conference regular season.

Venuti and Agrifolio posted a 7-2 doubles mark this year while playing second doubles for the Greyhounds.  The tandem was 5-1 during the Landmark Conference regular season.
