The Moravian College women's tennis team posted its first win of the 2011-12 season with a 5-4 victory over NCAA Division I LaSalle University at Hoffman Courts in the Greyhounds' second straight match versus a Division I opponent.
The Greyhounds trailed 2-1 after doubles action with a win from sophomores Erica Venuti and Katie Zien at third doubles. Moravian nearly had a lead after the doubles action but junior Chelsea Ott and freshman Sophia Osbourne were unable to hold onto a 5-1 lead at first doubles, falling 8-6.
In singles action for Moravian, Ott, did remain undefeated on the season with a straight sets win at first singles while Zien had a straight sets victory at fifth singles. Freshman Carley Agrifolio picked up a straight sets win at second singles while senior Brianna Kavanagh won on an injury default at sixth singles. Osbourne played a tough match at fourth singles, falling in a tiebreaker in the first set before letting a lead slip away in the second set.
