Greyhounds Capture 14th Straight Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship after Winning 2022 Title by One Point Sunday

HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- The Moravian University women's outdoor track & field team captured its 14th straight Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship, winning the 2022 title by a point at the two-day meet that completed on Sunday and was hosted by Juniata College. The Greyhounds, who have a total of 27 conference outdoor titles, had 162 points while Susquehanna University was second with 161 points. 

Event Winners

  • Moravian's first event title came from the 4x100-meter relay squad of juniors Helen Davis and Crystal Robinson and freshmen Abby Giamoni and Racquel Ramey in a Landmark Championship meet record and All-Atlantic Region Track & Field qualifying time of 47.92 seconds
  • Davis would also capture the 100-meter dash title in an AARTF qualifying time of 12.54 seconds, her second straight Landmark Conference championship in the event
  • Robinson repeated as the champion in the 200-meter dash with an AARTF qualifying time of 25.74 seconds
  • Sophomore Lexi Groff won the high jump with an AARTF qualifying height of 1.61 meters (5-3.25) in the final event to score. Her win pulled the Greyhounds from a nine-point deficit to the title with the River Hawks not scoring in the event

Top 8 Scoring Results

  • The Greyhounds started the day with 12 points in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Senior Santina Burak was third in an AARTF qualifying time of 12:06.02 to earn six points while freshman Amber Poniktera was one spot back in 12:15.12 to garner five points. Freshman Hannah Kolonoski placed eighth in a time of 13:12.19 to pick up one point
  • Freshman Amanda Nicolosi was seventh in the pole vault at a height of 2.45 meters (8-0.5) to tie her PR and score two points for Moravian
  • Junior Elizabeth DeMassa earned two points in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.48 seconds in the finals
  • The Blue and Grey scored 14 points in the 400-meter dash from three individuals. Robinson took third in an AARTF qualifying time of 59.45 seconds for six points while Giamoni placed fourth in 1:00.26 for five points. Freshman Zoey Bronson earned the other three points for a sixth-place finish in a PR time of 1:02.20
  • Moravian netted a total of 22 points in the 100-meter dash with Robinson finishing as the runner-up to Davis in an AARTF qualifying time of 12.59 seconds to garner eight points while Giamoni took fifth in 12.88 seconds for four points
  • Senior Natalie Stabilito finished fourth in the 800-meter run in an AARTF qualifying time of 2:19.10 to pick up five points
  • DeMassa scored another four points in the triple jump with a fifth-place distance of 10.30 meters (33-9.5)
  • Freshman Ashley Rodrigues garnered three points in the 400-meter hurdles in a PR time of 1:11.12
  • The Greyhounds netted 24 total points in the 200-meter dash with Giamoni taking second in an AARTF qualifying time of 25.88 seconds for eight points while Davis finished third in an AARTF qualifying and time of 25.93 seconds for another six points to go with Robinson's 10 points for winning the race
  • Freshman Caillie Fish recorded six points with a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a PR toss of 39.74 meters (130-4)
  • Freshman Arin Peykar finished fifth in the shot put with a PR toss of 10.97 meters (36-0) to earn four points
  • Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad of Stabilito, Bronson, Robinson and Giamoni finished third in the final event on the track with a time of 4:08.94 to score six points. The Hounds had to complete the race at least one spot ahead of Susquehanna to secure the title, and Giamoni completed the race just over a second and one place before the River Hawks after Robinson had put the Hounds ahead during the third leg of the race
