TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University senior middle distance runner Natalie Stabilito has been named as the 2022 Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete for Women's Outdoor Track & Field.
The Landmark Conference selects 22 senior scholar athletes each year to recognize the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and are selected by a committee of Landmark Conference officers, athletics directors, senior woman administrators and sports information directors. Chosen at the conclusion of each sport season, the 10 spring honorees are being announced last week and this week.
This past spring, Stabilito finished fourth in the 800-meter run and ninth in the 1,500-meter run at the Landmark Conference Championships, and she was part of Moravian's third place 4x400-meter relay team in the final track event of the meet that saw the Greyhounds earn their 14th straight Landmark Conference Outdoor title, winning by just a point. Stabilito also finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships hosted at Moravian as she went from 12th to fifth on the final lap of the race. In 2021, Stabilito won the Landmark Conference and AARTFC titles in the 1,500-meter run, and she also garnered Landmark All-Conference Second Team honors in the 800-meter run back in 2019.
During the indoor track season, Stabilito earned Landmark All-Conference Second Team accolades in the 800-meter run in 2019, and she was second in the mile run at the 2020 AARTFC Indoor Championships. Moravian captured Landmark Conference indoor titles in 2019 and 2020. This past fall on the cross country course, Stabilito garnered All-Metro Region honors with a fourth place finish that sent her to the 2021 NCAA Division III National Championship race in Louisville, Kentucky. She earned 2021 Landmark All-Conference First Team with a fourth place finish in the meet hosted by the Greyhounds, and she was a member of the Landmark All-Conference Second Team as a freshman cross country runner in 2018.
Off the track and cross country course, Stabilito made Moravian's Dean's Honors List eight times as well as being a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. She will be a nine-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Stabilito completed her undergraduate degree in nursing earlier this month with a 3.83 GPA. She was also named as an United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Individual in cross country in 2018 and 2021, and Stabilito was a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Freshman Student Honor Society.
Stabilito also served in a leadership role for Moravian's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and participated in Landmark Conference SAAC events, and she also worked with Moravian's Habitat for Humanity group on campus.
Stabilito is Moravian's 37th Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete since the conference began in 2007-08, and she is the fourth women's outdoor track & field student-athlete to be honored. The Greyhounds have had a total of 11 student-athletes from the women's cross country and track & field programs honored as Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athletes.
