LEXINGTON, Ky. --- The American Volleyball Coaches Association released a total of 1,208 colleges, including Moravian University, and high school volleyball teams that received the 2021-22 United States Marine Corps/AVCA Team Academic Award in the 30th year of the award.

The award, which began in 1992-93, honors college and high school teams that displayed excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average during the 2021-22 school year.

Moravian, under the direction of 30-year head coach Shelley Bauder, earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 12th time since the award was started. The Greyhounds and fellow Landmark Conference schools Elizabethtown College, Goucher College, Juniata College, Susquehanna University and The University of Scranton received the honor for 2021-22.

Coach Bauder and the Greyhounds open their 2022 season on Friday, September 2 when the squad hosts Olivet (Mich.) College and SUNY Cobleskill in Johnston Hall as part of the 19th Greyhound Premiere Invitational.
